I am so excited to announce that I am going to become a Pure Romance Consultant. This was a major decision for me and I thought long and hard (haha no pun intended) about this. I just recently went to Pure Romance party at a good friends house and was in absolute awe. I absolutely love the business aspect of this company and the fact that "SEX SELLS" Having my nursing degree I think I will really enjoy helping women learn more about their bodies.

Sometimes I feel like we try to avoid certain situations in life or we try and avoid the obvious. I am a true believer in the fact that what is meant to be will happen eventually... no matter what. You can run, hide, play dumb, or be blind to the obvious. I think that Bob Marley says it PERFECT RIGHT HERE:

Im obsessed with vintage dictionaries, sheet music, bibles, ect... The color the paper gets when it ages is just absolutely gorgeous and if your lucky enough the edges will have just enough wear to show the amazing life the book has had but not enough to look like it was ran over by a dump truck, carried off by a raccoon, and then used as a bed for a litter of kittens <- weird i know but if you have ever seen a really beat up damaged book you know exactly what I mean. There are many times I hold the book up with a look on my face like WTF happened to you... give it a little farewell hug and lay him to rest. ( i swear i save as many as I possibly can)
Now you may think my house looks like the cat lady's but with books instead of cats... well you are mistaken I am really good at hiding my collection of dictionaries and books. I started to look into things/crafts I could do to re-purpose these beautiful books so they could be shared and loved by others.. I am obsessed with quotes. Happy quotes, sad quotes, funny quotes, serious quotes, mean quotes, famous quotes, the list goes on and on.
So here is what I have came up with so far!!!! I can not wait to get some vintage frames and have these lovely babies ready to sell once Twin Giraffe Antique opens!
Sometimes I feel like I have just laid my sleepy head down on my amazingly comfortable pillow, pulled my favorite fuzzy soft blanket up around my neck and closed my heavy eyes, and beep beep beep.... My alarm is already going off. Two hungry mouths are waiting to be fed, the van is rolling out of the driveway for preschool, (running back inside because i forgot the diaper bag in the chaos), trip to post office, pick up daughter from school, drive home, lunch time, nap time, yay finally a rest period... haha ya right.. *clean the windows, mirrors, scrub the floors, do the dishes, uh-oh i forgot to fold the laundry, fluff the clothes in the drier, start another load of laundry, answer a telemarketer phone call* andddd now the kids are awake. now its barbies, coloring, play-doh, strawberry shortcake episodes, reading stories, fiance is now home from work, dinner time, hmm what should we have, bath time, chasing naked baby around the house, cuddle time, bed time, paypal invoices, blog, soothing scarey dreams, cleaning up dinner, and now im laying my sleepy head down on my amazingly comfortable pillow......... (and we begin again)
I swear there are not enough hours in the day.. Does anyone else agree with me here? I mean I am constantly on the run or so it feels I am. I have no one but myself to blame for the utter chaos in my life. My goal this week is to start USING my amazing Life Planner from the wonderful Erin Condren for more than just a paperweight. I am going to try and start planning ahead and designating certain days of the week and specific times to do specific things. My daughters go to their dad's on Wednesday night so I am going to start planning on doing my new business *see what I mean I have no one to blame but myself.* on the days when I do not have them (Thursdays-Fridays) I really enjoy being busy, I always have but there HAS to be a way to be more organized and to minimize the amount of times I consider pulling my hair out and stomping my feet while screaming "I QUIT"
This has been a long time coming.. I have been wanting to start a blog and Ive finally used up every excuse in the "reasons to not start a blog" book! So here it goes.
My name is Jess :) I am a young but intelligent nurse who chooses to be a stay at home mom. As if being a stay at home mom isn't enough I keep myself extra busy (which i love) by running a Vintage resale shop on Instagram @twingiraffe I have a love and passion for vintage/antiques. Old photos, scrapbooks, toys, stuffed animals, cards, and books are my favorites. I will soon be branching my antiques over to my Esty store! *Which I am sooo excited about* I don't mind at all standing in the rain, cold, heat, or blizzard like conditions to find these lovely items so I can make it my job to find them a new loving home. When I am not busy being a mom/soon to be wife/shop owner/cleaning/ and cooking I enjoy writing my penpals, making crafts, drawing, smashbook, and project life. Clothes are a slight obsession of mine. I am a slight Buckle & Victoria's Secret whore I mean addict. I have been told I don't look like a girl who would have a lot of tattoos but I am currently at 15 and still counting. I am terrified of shots and piercings but love tattoos. Especially when I am having a rough time and need to vent a little.. I turn to the pain from the tattoo gun *weird i know* I really enjoy scrolling through pinterest and pinning quotes! I love how certain ones are able to express your exact feelings. I am full of sarcasm and love to joke around.
I would like to now introduce you to my other half. He answers to a lot of things but we will keep it simple and call him Bret on here. I never wanted more in life until I met him. He knows me better than anyone else. He is a giant pain in my ass the most compassionate loving gentleman I have ever met. He knew me, accepted me, and believed in me when no one else would. He supports me and encourages me to push higher and further everyday with my business. He is my best friend and I can not wait to marry him on April 19 2014
